Hi there! My name is Trenton Davis, and I am the Aquatics Director at the 20th Avenue Y. I started working as a lifeguard here in 2019 and have since taken on nearly every role in the aquatics department. My experience as both a participant and an administrator give me a unique perspective, allowing me to understand our programs from all angles. I hold certifications as a Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, and in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid.
As Aquatics Director, I oversee our swim lesson programs, manage the pool schedule, lead the second-grade Safety Around Water program, and handle staffing for aquatics positions. I also collaborate with the OSHY Swim Team and step in to teach or lifeguard when needed. I am passionate about creating opportunities for everyone to learn water safety and swimming skills, regardless of age, ability, or background. My goal is to ensure that everyone feels welcome and supported in the water.
The Oshkosh Y has been a part of my life from the very beginning, shaping who I am today. I grew up taking swim lessons and competed with the OSHY swim team for eight years. My family has a deep connection to the Y—my dad has worked here since before I was born, and my mom was part of the team before becoming a teacher. Now, I’m proud to carry on that legacy, from visiting my mom’s classroom as a guest speaker to training future lifeguards potentially lifesaving skills. It’s an honor to give back to the community that shaped me.
Outside of work, I enjoy music, video games, spending time with my dog, and exploring new languages. I’m currently learning Japanese, American Sign Language, and a bit of Korean. If you see me around and know Japanese or ASL, feel free to say hello—I’m always excited to practice and connect with others!
