PROGRAMS FOR ALL ABILITIES
Adaptive sports programs at the Y provide children and adults with disabilities the chance to play sports and participate in learning opportunities in a safe, fun atmosphere.
TOP Soccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a FREE community-based program for young athletes with disabilities. Our goal is to bring the community of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability. Participants will work with experienced coaches, volunteers, and players to experience skills sessions, drills, and games. All participants will receive a t-shirt. A parent/guardian must be present at all times. Please email Jeremy Gaveske at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Led by UW-Oshkosh students, this program is for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. The goal of this program is to provide persons with all levels of abilities an opportunity to learn new things or improve existing aquatic skills. Below are a few things to know about this program.
- Adapted Aquatics is wheelchair accessible
- During the session, swimmers will have use of the entire aquatic facility
- The session includes playing with stimulating water toys that are appropriate for each age/ability level
- The instructor ratio is between 1:1 - 1:3, depending on the nature of each participant's ability level
