Hello Friends. My name is Melissa Wollin. I am the Aquatics Director at the Downtown YMCA and have been in this role since October of 2023. In my early aquatic years, I worked for the YMCA of Dane County, running an aquatics facility off-site in the community of Lodi. In my time there I received the honor of “Aquatics Director of the Year” at the state level. I worked for the Dane County YMCA for 8 years before moving on and taking a break from aquatics for the past 13 years.

I decided in 2023 to come back to the YMCA. I missed the camaraderie and the sense of belonging to something bigger. I strive daily to represent the YMCA’s core values and live out its mission. I am excited to be back in an environment that I want to thrive in and strive to make a difference in the lives of patrons we serve in the community daily.

In my spare time I love catching a hockey, football or baseball game. I am an avid sports lover and cheer on the Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks every chance I get. I live in the Oshkosh area with my significant other and our animals. I have a love of cats, but have grown to love dogs as well. This is in part because my significant other has a 7-year-old dog that I inherited in the process of combining households. I also enjoy traveling and have been to all 50 states and been out of the country a handful of times. Hawaii was my last state to travel to, however I already have the opportunity to go back in March of 2025. I am also ordained and will have the honor of marrying two of my very close friends.

I look forward to seeing you in the pool in the near future. If ever I can assist with anything please reach out.
