My name is Jennifer Colvin, I am the Downtown Childcare Director. I started working at the YMCA in 2017. I received my associate degree in early childhood education in 2003 from FVTC.

As the Childcare Director, I oversee our Downtown center and staff. I strive to give all the staff and families we serve a place where they all feel safe, loved, and feel that they matter. We give the children the foundation that they need to become strong, independent, responsible members of their communities.

I came to the Y because after almost 20 years in the health care field I was burnt out and needed a change. I worked in various roles throughout the Childcare center before becoming Childcare Director in July of 2023 when the YMCA took over operations at the UWO Childcare center. I truly enjoy coming to work every day and seeing the children grow and learn-not to mention all the hugs and baby snuggles!

I grew up in Wautoma and have a sister and brother. I now live in Eldorado with my boyfriend, our five children and four dogs. We live on almost 90 acres and spend most of our free time hunting, fishing, exploring and just managing the land. We also oversee the family restaurant in Rosendale, Tabbert’s.  We love taking road trips, going to basketball, football, and baseball games and to live music/concerts.
