Network Health Partner Programs


The Oshkosh Community YMCA and the YMCA of the Fox Cities are partnering with Network Health to offer Network Health Medicare Advantage members with access to fitness benefits some amazing programs.

We are expanding our benefits to ensure you have the health and wellness support you need throughout the ongoing pandemic. Many of these programs are offered virtually, to keep our community healthy in body, mind, and spirit – at no additional cost to the member. The Y and Network Health both believe in investing in our community and your physical and mental health and supporting your engagement in physical activity.


If you are a Network Health Medicare Advantage Member with access to fitness benefits, the following programs are available to you at no additional cost.

PLEASE NOTE: Virtual program options are open and available to members located anywhere in the state and are hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA and YMCA of the Fox Cities staff. You will notice these virtual options will include a registration link for both of these "locations," and since it is a virtual format, you may choose either one. The programs are the same. 


HEALTHY LIVING


PERSONAL TRAINING: (Virtual or In Person)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the YMCA of the Fox Cities

Work one-on-one with a personal trainer and receive instruction and encouragement to push yourself further than you can imagine. You will get more than just a challenging workout; you'll be taught how to exercise effectively and safely to achieve your goals and become a new you. Whether you are searching for athletic performance enhancement, rehabilitation for injuries, weight loss, diet analysis, exercise for clinical concerns, or a variety of other fitness and/or nutrition solutions, we can create an individualized program to help you meet and exceed your goals. Personal Training is offered in person at both locations, as well as virtually and all Personal Training sessions are led by Nationally Certified Personal Trainers recognized by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. NUTRITION & DIETETIC SERVICES: (Virtual or In Person)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the YMCA of the Fox Cities

The Y is thrilled to provide nutrition and dietetic services to our community. Our Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist can help you achieve your health goals. Whether your goal is improved nutrition, peak performance, diabetes or disease management, increased energy, or weight loss, you can benefit from meeting with our Nationally Certified Dietitian. All Nutrition/Dietetic Sessions will expire on 12/31/2020. Learn more about our Nutrition and Dietetic Services HERE.

TEACHING KITCHEN OFFERINGS: (Virtual or In Person)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the YMCA of the Fox Cities

At the Y we know that healthy lifestyles and well-being goes beyond just working out – and is also achieved in the kitchen. We have a variety of Teaching Kitchen offerings throughout the year including a virtual series, as well as various in-person classes, demonstrations, workshops and more taught by certified Y coaches. Learn more about our Teaching Kitchen offerings HERE.

 

The Oshkosh YMCA will be offering upcoming Teaching Kitchen content including a squash recipe, how to turn a pumpkin into pumpkin pie filling, healthier versions to thanksgiving foods, healthier alternatives for baking ingredients, meal prepping and how to read a nutrition label.

FOOT CARE CLINICS:  (In Person)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the YMCA of the Fox Cities

Proper foot care is an important component of a person’s overall health. Experts recommend that seniors pay special attention to their feet. A nurse from Valley VNA Senior Care will provide a foot soak, nail trim, filing, foot massage, and treatment of minor corns or callouses. The nurse will look out for any concerning issues and refer you to a podiatrist, if necessary. Please note that you must attend the Foot Care Clinic in person. BRAIN FITNESS WORKSHOP: (Virtual)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA

It's never too late to train your brain. Join brain fitness experts from Home Care Assistance for a series on how to proactively keep your brain healthy, slow down cognitive decline and increase your quality of life. This workshop will be led virtually using Zoom. Once registered, you will receive an email with more information. Brain fitness activities can help people of all ages. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY 


LIVESTRONG AT THE Y CANCER PROGRAM: (Virtual or In Person)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the YMCA of the Fox Cities
LiveSTRONG at the Y is a twelve-week, small-group program for adult cancer survivors. Whether they are currently going through treatment, are in a transitional period after completing treatment, or had cancer in the past, all survivors are welcome. The program helps survivors build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. We also aim to reduce the severity of therapy side effects, prevent unwanted weight changes, and improve energy levels and self-esteem. BEYOND LIMITS VETERAN PROGRAM: (In Person)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA
Beyond Limits is a special 12-week wellness program for veterans from any military branch who served in the armed forces. To qualify, you must have a disability rating from the Veteran Affairs. Veterans will receive in-depth training with our nationally certified strength coaches, registered dietitians and wellness coaches. They work side by side with other veterans throughout this program and strive to overcome any physical and mental challenges. Learn more about the Beyond Limits Program HERE

ROCK STEADY BOXING PARKINSON'S PROGRAM: (Virtual or In Person) 
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA
Rock Steady Boxing is a program that gives people with Parkinson’s disease hope by improving their quality of life through a non-contact boxing based fitness curriculum. Having Parkinson's looks different on everyone who has it, and each person's FIGHT looks different. Our staff will work with each person to focus on individual goals and exercises specific to their battle and ability. Boxing can help those with Parkinson's by enhancing their quality of life by building power, strength, flexibility, and speed. PEDALING FOR PARKINSON'S: (In Person) 
Hosted by the YMCA of the Fox Cities
Group cycling and support helps reduce symptoms in Parkinson’s disease sufferers and improves the quality of life for patients and their caregivers. Eligible adults aged 30-75 with a Parkinson’s diagnosis ride indoor cycles at 80-90 RPM, two times per week, 60 minutes each session, over the course of at least 8 weeks. YMCA staff are trained by certified indoor cycling instructors following the Pedaling for Parkinson’s protocol and monitor heart rate and exercise frequency. Learn more about the Pedaling for Parkinson's Program HERE

VIRTUAL MEMORY CAFE: (Virtual)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA

The Oshkosh Y Virtual Memory Café provides a fun, comfortable (virtual) environment where people with early stage memory loss or Alzheimer's Disease can relax and enjoy the company of others. A one-hour program is offered once a month. Each program is different but encourages participants to have fun, learn, and socialize with others who are living in the early stages of dementia. DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM: (Virtual)
Hosted by the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the YMCA of the Fox Cities
Work with a trained lifestyle coach and a small group of adults to discuss behavior changes that can improve your overall health and help prevent diabetes. The program consists of 25 one-hour sessions delivered over the course of a year. (25 Total Sessions: 16 Sessions weekly, 4 Sessions bi-weekly, 5 Sessions monthly.)
