There are several different areas to work in the Oshkosh Community YMCA. We are currently hiring for the following positions:

 

Downtown and 20th Avenue Membership Staff


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: 2-7pm weekdays and rotating hours on weekends.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the member service attendant is responsible for membership sales, program registration and providing services to members and guests. Building lasting relationships with our members is essential to the growth and longevity of the Y and our mission. The Oshkosh Community YMCA strives to extend the very best in customer care to all who come through the doors!

Requirements: Applicants must be able to move freely throughout the building and be available approximately 15 hours per week. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years customer service experience, excellent communication skills & computer skills, be energetic, positive and motivated.

20th Avenue Welcome Center Attendant 

 
Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: 4pm – 10pm with rotating weekend hours.  Flexibility with availability to cover illness/vacation time

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Welcome Center Attendant is responsible for greeting all members and guests of the Y in a professional and welcoming manner, verifying memberships, selling day passes, folding towels, and assisting membership as needed. 
The Welcome Center Attendant has a unique opportunity to interact with all of our members as they arrive and depart our facility. Building lasting relationships with our members is essential to the growth and longevity of the Y and our missions. The Oshkosh Community YMCA strives to extend the very best in customer care to all who come through our doors.

Requirements: Applicants must be able to move freely throughout the building and be available for the opening shift. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years customer service experience, excellent communication skills and computer skills. The applicant must be energetic, positive and motivated.

20th Ave Cafe/Pro Shop


Hours per Week: Part Time

Responsibilities: Handling and preparation of food, working with money and good customer service. Prior skating experience preferred but not required for the Pro Shop.
 



Active Older Adult (AOA) Instructors:

  • Chair Yoga
  • Zumba Gold/Latin Dance
  • Senior Muscle Conditioning/Cardio
 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days:  Chair Yoga ~ 10:45-11:30am Mondays at the DTC
                    Zumba Gold/Latin Dance ~ class time TBD
                    Senior Muscle Conditioning/Cardio ~ class time TBD

Responsibilities: 
The person(s) selected for these positions will be responsible for quality fitness programming for our 55+ members and guests.​

Requirements: Prior group exercise instructor experience desirable; certifications to teach are preferred but not required. The successful applicant must have their own transportation, be reliable, have excellent written and oral communication, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., bend, stoop and twist, and see and hear clearly.
 



Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors 20th Avenue


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors will have WSI preferred but not necessary; will train.
 
 

Before and After School Staff


Hours per Week: Part Time

Work Days: 2-6pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities: The Before and After-school program for children at area elementary schools. Staff provide supervision, assist in lesson planning and implementation of activities, and provide homework assistance. 

Requirements: Must have complete at least 1-3 credit course in Education or have completed the 15 hour School Age Assistant course. Certification course can be completed during employment.



Youth Sports Officials 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities: Officiate youth programs such as basketball, soccer and football.

Requirements: Applicant must be educated in sports officiating, have an outgoing and patient personality, and have a passion for working with children. It is important that applicants are devoted, enthusiastic, and committed to instilling the four core values of the Y (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility) into the players and coaches they come in contact with.
 


 

Assistant Teachers Downtown & 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Varies between 6am-8pm Monday-Friday

Requirements: Applicants must meet minimum State Licensing Requirements for Assistant Teachers, and previous experience is preferred.

 



Lead Teacher 4/5 Classroom Downtown Y

 

Hours per Week: Full-time

Work Days: Monday-Friday between 6am and 6pm

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom management, parent communication, curriculum development, record keeping, and classroom organization. 

Requirements:  Must be a highly motivated and high enegery person able to provide a safe and fun environment for our 4/5-year olds. Must meet DCF licensing requirements for Lead Teacher and a Registry Certificate Level 7 or higher is preferred.
