Body Pump Instructors Downtown & 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: Lead Body Pump classes. Orient, motivate and safely instruct members.

Requirements: Possession of a Les Mills Certification in Body Pump preferred by not required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required.
 




Sports Coordinator 20th Avenue

Ice Arena Custodian


Hours per Week: Part Time

Work Days: Evenings and weekends. 

Responsibilities: Maintenance and cleaning of the ice arean including locker rooms. Also responsible for before/after hour program supervision and operating the Zamboni.  

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Paid training provided.

 




Youth Volleyball Instructor 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Classes will be on week nights and weekends

Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for working with our Youth Volleyball program to help instruct classes, monitor play, enforce the rules, and create a positive environment for the children.

Requirements: Knowledge of volleyball is important. Applicant must be energetic, vocal and enjoy working with children.

 




Adult Sports Officials 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Leagues take place on week nights and weekends

Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for officiating our adult and high school soccer leagues. They will officiate games, monitor play, enforce the rules, and create a positive environment for our teams.

Requirements: Previous soccer experience is important. 
 



Climbing Wall Instructor 20th Avenue 


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Monday-Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 10am-2pm and Sunday afternoons.

Responsibilities: Knowledgeable in rock climbing, able to work with young kids and experienced adults, comfortable with teaching classes and groups. 

 


 

20th Avenue Building Supervisor

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: The Building Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the 20th Avenue facility during evenings and weekends to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our members. Applicants must be able to work 5pm-Close Monday-Friday and on weekends. 

Requirements: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and must be able to move freely throughout the building. The ideal candidate would have previous customer service experience, excellent communication skills and possess a very outgoing personality. 

 



Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors Downtown 


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-8:30pm Monday-Friday and 6am-5pm Saturday 

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors will have WSI certification preferable but will train.

 



20th Ave Cafe/Pro Shop


Hours per Week: Part Time

Responsibilities: Handling and preparation of food, working with money and good customer service. Prior skating experience preferred but not required for the Pro Shop.
 



Active Older Adult (AOA) Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

  • Chair Yoga
  • Zumba Gold/Latin Dance
  • Senior Muscle Conditioning/Cardio
  • Cycling
  • Pilates


Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: 
The person(s) selected for these positions will be responsible for quality fitness programming for our 55+ members and guests.​

Requirements: Prior group exercise instructor experience desirable; certifications to teach are preferred but not required. The successful applicant must have their own transportation, be reliable, have excellent written and oral communication, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., bend, stoop and twist, and see and hear clearly.
 



Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors 20th Avenue


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors will have WSI preferred but not necessary; will train.
 
 

Before and After School Staff


Hours per Week: Part Time

Work Days: 2-6pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities: The Before and After-school program for children at area elementary schools. Staff provide supervision, assist in lesson planning and implementation of activities, and provide homework assistance. 

Requirements: Must have complete at least 1-3 credit course in Education or have completed the 15 hour School Age Assistant course. Certification course can be completed during employment.



Youth Sports Officials 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities: Officiate youth programs such as basketball, soccer and football.

Requirements: Applicant must be educated in sports officiating, have an outgoing and patient personality, and have a passion for working with children. It is important that applicants are devoted, enthusiastic, and committed to instilling the four core values of the Y (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility) into the players and coaches they come in contact with.
 


 

Assistant Childcare Teachers Downtown & 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Varies between 6am-8pm Monday-Friday

Requirements: Applicants must meet minimum State Licensing Requirements for Assistant Teachers, and previous experience is preferred.
 


 

DT Summer Fun Club Site Coordinator


Hours per week: Position is 40+hours and salary based.

Responsibilities: Site Coordinator will oversee staff, day to day operations, create staff schedules/weekly newsletters, communicate with parents, do supply shopping and work closely with Director on all other areas.
 

Summer Fun Club Assistant Teacher


Hours per week: M-F, 36-38 hours/week. $7.50/hour.

Responsibilities: Working with children ages 5-12 at both Y locations. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for helping lead teachers create weekly lesson plans and activities. Activities range from arts and craft lessons, group games, outdoor activities, science and nature, etc. They will communicate with parents on a daily basis, supervise and interact with children at all times. They will work closely with other staff members and report to Site Coordinator and School Age Director.

Requirements: Education courses/trainings or prior experience working with children are highly encouraged, but not necessary. Staff will be required to be CPR/First Aid certified.
 

For above summer positions:

 
Interviews will begin in March, training begins mid-May and summer starts in June and runs through August. During those months, staff are allowed 3 days off total. This is an 12 week summer program. There is no program Friday July 4th.

Teen Leader (parttime) or Teen Group Leader (fulltime)


Hours per week: Parttime: M-F, 36-38 hours/week. $7.50-$8/hour. Fulltime: M-F, 40 hours/week. $-$8.50/hour.

Responsibilities: Working with children ages 11-16 at both Y locations. Operate and organized and structured age appropriate environment for Teens. Model and implement the Y core values into programming. Attend weekly staff meetings. Work with Program Coordinator and other Teen Leaders to plan weekly activities, community service projects, community outings, and program initiatives. Assist in creating and maintaining Teen Boards that assist in planning and developing Teen activities, projects and events.
 
Requirements: Must be reliable, motivated and outgoing. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and working relationship with all teens, teen staff, families, supervisors, and other Y employees. Ability to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and tact on a daily basis. 3-6 credits in development or education required or willingness to complete self-study, non-credit courses before beginning. CPR/First Aid certified preferred.
