Zumba Instructor at Downtown & 20th Y
 

Hours per Week: Part time
 
Workdays: Varies from 8am-6pm during weekdays or 9am on Saturday rotation
 
Requirements: Possession of a Zumba certification is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required.

 




Fitness Center Staff 20th Avenue

 
Hours per Week: Part time; opening and closing shifts available.

Responsibilities: Health and Wellness staff will instruct participants in the essentials of a safe and effective wellness program and oversee the safety of all individuals utilizing the Wellness Center.

Requirements: Degree in Exercise Science or National Personal Training Certification is preferred. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary along with the ability to work independently. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to provide wellness support to members of all ages and abilities. 

 

Welcome Center Attendant
 

20th Avenue & Downtown Locations

Hours Per Week: 
Part time

Work Day: Availability for shift 445-10pm weekdays and rotating weekend shifts as needed.  You will be asked to train & be available to work the opening shift for illness/vacation as needed. 

Responsibilities:  Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Welcome Center Attendant is responsible greeting all members & guests of the Y in a professional & welcoming manner, verifying memberships, sell day passes, fold towels and assist members as needed.
The Welcome Center Attendant has the unique opportunity to interact with all our members as they arrive & depart our facility.  Building lasting relationships with our members is essential to the growth and longevity of the YMCA and our mission.  The Oshkosh Community YMCA strives to extend the very best in customer care to all who come through our doors! 

Requirements:  At least 18 years of age or older.  Applicants must be able to move freely throughout the building and be available for the opening shift.  The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years customer service experience, excellent communication skills & computer skills, be energetic, positive & motivated.

20th Avenue Summer Drop-In Staff

Hours per week: Part time
Work Days: 7:15am-1pm Monday-Friday; occasional night shifts from 4-8pm

 
Responsibilities: ​Provide care for children 6 weeks to 6 years of age during the time parents are using the facility. Responsible for the safety and well-being of children, maintaining disciple and order, and maintaining open communication with parents. 

Requirements: At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with children preferred but not required.

 



Body Pump Instructors Downtown & 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: Lead Body Pump classes. Orient, motivate and safely instruct members.

Requirements: Possession of a Les Mills Certification in Body Pump preferred by not required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required.
 


 



Ice Arena Custodian


Hours per Week: Part Time

Work Days: Evenings and weekends. 

Responsibilities: Maintenance and cleaning of the ice arena including locker rooms. Also responsible for before/after hour program supervision and operating the Zamboni.  

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Paid training provided.

 




Youth Volleyball Instructor 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Classes will be on week nights and weekends

Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for working with our Youth Volleyball program to help instruct classes, monitor play, enforce the rules, and create a positive environment for the children.

Requirements: Knowledge of volleyball is important. Applicant must be energetic, vocal and enjoy working with children.

 




Adult Sports Officials 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Leagues take place on week nights and weekends

Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for officiating our adult and high school soccer leagues. They will officiate games, monitor play, enforce the rules, and create a positive environment for our teams.

Requirements: Previous soccer experience is important. 
 



Climbing Wall Instructor 20th Avenue


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Monday-Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 10am-2pm and Sunday afternoons.

Responsibilities: Knowledgeable in rock climbing, able to work with young kids and experienced adults, comfortable with teaching classes and groups. 

 


 

20th Avenue Building Supervisor

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: The Building Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the 20th Avenue facility during evenings and weekends to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our members. Applicants must be able to work 5pm-Close Monday-Friday and on weekends. 

Requirements: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and must be able to move freely throughout the building. The ideal candidate would have previous customer service experience, excellent communication skills and possess a very outgoing personality. 

 



Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors Downtown


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-8:30pm Monday-Friday and 6am-5pm Saturday 

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors will have WSI certification preferable but will train.

 



20th Ave Cafe/Pro Shop


Hours per Week: Part Time

Responsibilities: Handling and preparation of food, working with money and good customer service. Prior skating experience preferred but not required for the Pro Shop.
 



Active Older Adult (AOA) Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

Responsibilities: 
Part time Active Aging Instructors are needed!  If you have an interest in leading any of the following class formats, the Oshkosh Community YMCA wants to hear from you.

Requirements:  Prior group exercise instructor experience (and certifications) are desirable but not required.  Successful candidates for these positions will be responsible for helping to provide quality fitness programming for our 55+ year old members and guests.  They will be outgoing, friendly and have a genuine desire to help others.  They must have their own transportation, be reliable, have excellent written and oral communication, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally, bend, stoop and twist, and see and hear clearly.
 



Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors 20th Avenue


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors will have WSI preferred but not necessary; will train.
 
 

Before and After School Staff


Hours per Week: Part Time

Work Days: 2-6pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities: The Before and After-school program for children at area elementary schools. Staff provide supervision, assist in lesson planning and implementation of activities, and provide homework assistance. 

Requirements: Must have complete at least 1-3 credit course in Education or have completed the 15 hour School Age Assistant course. Certification course can be completed during employment.



Youth Sports Officials 20th Avenue

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities: Officiate youth programs such as basketball, soccer and football.

Requirements: Applicant must be educated in sports officiating, have an outgoing and patient personality, and have a passion for working with children. It is important that applicants are devoted, enthusiastic, and committed to instilling the four core values of the Y (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility) into the players and coaches they come in contact with.

Work Days: Varies between 6am-8pm Monday-Friday
