20th Avenue Part-time Custodian/Maintenance


Hours per Weeek: Part time

Responsibilities: Work with our Property Director to provide cleaning, light maintenance, snow removal, and mowing.

Requirements: A flexible schedule and weekend availability

 


20th Avenue Membership Staff
 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: 3-8pm weekdays and rotating hours on weekends.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the member service attendant is responsible for membership sales, program registration and providing services to members and guests. Building lasting relationships with our members is essential to the growth and longevity of the Y and our mission. The Oshkosh Community YMCA strives to extend the very best in customer care to all who come through the doors!

Requirements: Applicants must be able to move freely throughout the building and be available approximately 15 hours per week. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years customer service experience, excellent communication skills & computer skills, be energetic, positive and motivated.

Summer Fun Club Assistant Teacher:

 
Hours: M-F, 36-38 hours/week. $7.75-8.10/hour. Working with children ages 5-12 at both Y locations.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for helping lead teachers create weekly lesson plans and activities. Activities range from arts and craft lessons, group games, outdoor activities, science and nature, etc. They will communicate with parents on a daily basis, supervise and interact with children at all times. They will work closely with other staff members and report to Site Coordinator and School Age Director.

Requirements: Education courses/trainings or prior experience working with children are highly encouraged, but not necessary. Staff will be required to be CPR/First Aid certified.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week. $8.15-8.50/hour. Working with children ages 5-12 at both Y locations.

Responsibilities: The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating weekly lesson plans and activities. Activities range from arts and craft lessons, group games, outdoor activities, science and nature, etc. They will communicate with parents on a daily basis, supervise and interact with children at all times. They will work closely with other staff members and report to Site Coordinator and School Age Director.

Requirements: Education courses/trainings or prior experience working with children are highly encouraged, but not necessary. Staff will be required to be CPR/First Aid certified.

For all above positions:

Interviews will begin in March, training begins mid-May and summer starts on June 13 and runs through September 2, 2016 (this could change based on the Oshkosh Area School District calendar). During those months, staff are allowed 3 days off total. This is a 12-week summer program. There is no program July 4, 2016

Health and Wellness Center Staff 20th Avenue


Hours per week: Part time

Work days: Tuesday and Thursday evening shifts with alternating weekends. 

Responsibilities: Health and Wellness Center Staff is required to instruct participants in the essentials of a safe and effective wellness program and oversee the safety of all individuals utilizing the Wellness Center.

Requirements: Health and Wellness Center Staff is required to have current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid. A degree in health & fitness or related field and a national personal training or equivalent certifications preferred but not required. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary along with the ability to work independently. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to provide wellness support to members of all ages and abilities.

 




Before and After School Staff

 

Hours per Week: Part Time

Work Days: 2-6pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities: The Before and After-school program for children at area elementary schools. Staff provide supervision, assist in lesson planning and implementation of activities, and provide homework assistance. 

Requirements: Must have complete at least 1-3 credit course in Education or have completed the 15 hour School Age Assistant course. Certification course can be completed during employment.

 





Health and Wellness Center Staff Downtown

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: Provide direct supervision of all strength training and aerobic rooms.  Provide new member orientations, fitness assessments and tours. Build trusting relationships and assist members as needed. Clean and maintain fitness equipment in the Health and Wellness Center. 

Requirements: Degree in Exercise Science or National Personal Training Certification is preferred. CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Adaptable, friendly and outgoing personality. Exemplify the core values of the YMCA and all aspects of fitness.




Active Older Adult (AOA) Instructors

Responsibilities: Part time Active Aging Instructors are needed!  If you have an interest in leading any of the following class formats, the Oshkosh Community YMCA wants to hear from you.
 
Requirements:  Prior group exercise instructor experience (and certifications) are desirable but not required.  Successful candidates for these positions will be responsible for helping to provide quality fitness programming for our 55+ year old members and guests.  They will be outgoing, friendly and have a genuine desire to help others.  They must have their own transportation, be reliable, have excellent written and oral communication, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally, bend, stoop and twist, and see and hear clearly.

Cafe Staff 20th Avenue


Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: Food handling and preparation, working with money and good customer service skills.
 




Group Cycling Instructor Downtown & 20th Avenue
 

Hours per Week: Part time
 
Workdays: Noon hour weekdays DTC &/or Mornings at 20th Ave.
 
Requirements: Possession of a Group Cycling certification is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required. Instruct a fun and energetic indoor group cycling class.

 


Drop-In Childcare 20th Avenue & Downtown 


Hours per week: Part time

Responsibilities: Responsible for the safety and well-being of children 6 weeks to 6 years of age during the time parents are in the facility. Must supervise and participate in play and activities with the children, maintain discipline and order, and maintain open communitication with parents. 

Requirements: At least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.

 
 

Zumba Instructor at Downtown & 20th Avenue
 

Hours per Week: Part time
 
Workdays: Varies from 8am-6pm during weekdays or 9am on Saturday rotation
 
Requirements: Possession of a Zumba certification is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required.

 



Body Pump Instructors Downtown & 20th Avenue


Hours per Week: Part time

Responsibilities: Lead Body Pump classes. Orient, motivate and safely instruct members.

Requirements: Possession of a Les Mills Certification in Body Pump preferred by not required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required.
 

 


 

 


 


Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors 20th Avenue


Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors will have WSI preferred but not necessary; will train.
 


Youth Sports Officials 20th Avenue 

 

Hours per Week: Part time

Work Days: Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities: Officiate youth programs such as basketball, soccer and football.

Requirements: Applicant must be educated in sports officiating, have an outgoing and patient personality, and have a passion for working with children. It is important that applicants are devoted, enthusiastic, and committed to instilling the four core values of the Y (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility) into the players and coaches they come in contact with.
