School Age Director


The School Age Director is a CAUSE DRIVEN LEADERSHIP position responsible for administration of policies and program activities of all school age programs – Before/After-School, Kid’s Day Out, and Summer Fun Club.

Hours per Week: Full-Time

Work Days: Monday-Friday
 
Responsibilities: 
  1. Administration of school age programs in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, YoungStar and the YMCA of USA rules and regulations.
  2. Hire, train, supervise, and discipline school age staff including leading monthly staff meetings.
  3. Attend all Program Staff and Management Team meetings.
  4. Attend training workshops as required by DHFS regulations.
  5. Development of annual budget.
  6. Conduct annual evaluations of all school age staff.
  7. Maintain accurate records as required by the State of Wisconsin Licensing Rules and YoungStar.
  8. Promotion of all school age programs.
  9. Development and implement age appropriate curriculum and activities for all school age programs.
  10. Management of Food and Special Milk Program in accordance with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
  11. Serve as a liaison between the YMCA, community, and parents of participants.
  12. Development of new programs for school age children.
  13. Serve on other project committees as assigned by supervisor.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  1. Two full time school age coordinators
  2. School age staff members.
  3. Volunteers.
  4. Intern Employees as assigned by supervisor.
  5. Program Participants.

20th Avenue Building Supervisor 

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Building Supervisor staff serve members and guests of the Y by providing quality supervision to youth, and provide a safe and friendly atmosphere for our members and guests.

Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7 pm Saturday and Sunday (The summer hours change to Saturday: 8am-5pm and Sunday: 9am-12pm).

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 15 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors must have experience in swim instruction.

 




Water Fitness Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time (Weekend and evening hours preferred)

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7 pm Saturday and Sunday (The summer hours change to Saturday: 8am-5pm and Sunday: 9am-12pm).

Responsibilities: Instruct various water Fitness Classes while keeping a positive and upbeat attitude. Will train the right person. Water certifications not required, but are preferred.

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Will train the right person. Water certifications not required, but are preferred.


 




Pro Shop/Zamboni Driver 20th Avenue

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Opening and closing the pro shop, customer service during open skate programs including using a cash register and handing out skate, skate sharpening, and operating the Zamboni. 

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Experience is not necessary as all training will be provide. Must be able to work evening and weekend hours.

 




Childcare Teachers - 20th Avenue & Downtown  

 

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time & Full-Time

Work Days: Varies between 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday

Qualifications/Experience:  Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Must meet minimum State Licensing Requirements for Assistant Teachers. (Early Childhood 1) Lead Teachers must also have Early Childhood 2. Experience working with children is preferred.

Drop-In Childcare - 20th Avenue & Downtown 

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Responsible for the safety and well-being of children 6 weeks to 6 years of age during the time parents are in the facility. Must supervise and participate in play and activities with the children, maintain discipline and order, and maintain open communitication with parents. 

Requirements: At least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.

 



Fitness Equipment Maintenance Technician/ Wellness Coach
 

Hours per Week:  Part-Time 

Summary: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are currently looking for a part-time motivated and goal oriented individual. We encourage all mechanically inclined individuals with experiences in the service and repair industry to apply. This position will be responsible for promptly and safely maintaining all fitness equipment with a large emphasis on the repair and preventative maintenance of fitness equipment. Additional duties may include maintenance of electrical components, audio/video systems, monitoring, and working the Health and Wellness Center.

Massage Therapist -  20th Avenue
 

Hours per Week:  Part-Time 

Summary: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Performs massage in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all levels. Effectively builds community within the sessions. Modifies sessions as needed to meet varied health, ability, and cultural needs.

Active Aging Instructors


Hours per Week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Part-Time Active Aging Instructors are needed!  If you have an interest in leading any of the following class formats, the Oshkosh Community YMCA wants to hear from you.

-Muscle Conditioning,
-Low Impact Aerobics
-Onsite and Offsite class options available

Requirements: Prior group exercise instructor experience (and certifications) are desirable but not required. Successful candidates for these positions will be responsible for helping to provide quality fitness programming for corporate wellness clients. They will be outgoing, friendly and have a genuine desire to help others. They must have their own transportation, be reliable, have excellent written and oral communication, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally, bend, stoop and twist, and see and hear clearly.

 



Adult Sports Officials (Football and Soccer) - 20th Avenue

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Work Days: Leagues take place on week nights and weekends.

Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for the officiating of adult leauges. They will officiate games, monitor play, enforce rules, and create a positive environment for our teams.

Requirements: Previous soccer and/or football experience is importment. 


 




Youth Sports Officials - 20th Avenue 

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Work Days: Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities: Officiate youth programs such as basketball, soccer and football.

Requirements: Applicant must be educated in sports officiating, have an outgoing and patient personality, and have a passion for working with children. It is important that applicants are devoted, enthusiastic, and committed to instilling the four core values of the Y (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility) into the players and coaches they come in contact with.
