Membership Specialist:  Make a difference every day. We need YOU! 



Hours per Week: Part time, Downtown Y

Work Days: 4pm to 8pm weekdays with rotating hours on weekends.
 

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Membership Coordinator, the Membership Specialist staff members are responsible for membership sales, program registration and providing services to members and guests. Building lasting relationships with our members is essential to the growth and longevity of the Y and our mission. The Oshkosh Community YMCA strives to extend the very best in customer care to all who come through the doors!

Requirements: Applicants must be able to move freely throughout the building and be available approximately 15 hours per week. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1-year customer service experience, excellent communication skills & computer skills, be energetic, positive and motivated.

School Age Department Staff


The Oshkosh YMCA School Age Department is seeking outgoing, responsible, caring, and dedicated staff to work in our Before and After School Programs for the 2018-2019 school year. We are currently hiring Site Supervisors, Group Leaders, an Assistant Group Leaders.

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Work Days: 6-8am and/or 2:30-6pm Monday-Friday
 
Responsibilities: Staff are responsible for day to day operations and supervision and engagement with youth at each site. A typical day schedule will include; An afternoon snack, homework help, outside play, group lessons, and interest areas.

Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7 pm Saturday and Sunday (The summer hours change to Saturday: 8am-5pm and Sunday: 9am-12pm).

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors must have experience in swim instruction.
 




Water Fitness Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time (Weekend and evening hours preferred)

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7 pm Saturday and Sunday (The summer hours change to Saturday: 8am-5pm and Sunday: 9am-12pm).

Responsibilities: Instruct various water Fitness Classes while keeping a positive and upbeat attitude. Will train the right person. Water certifications not required, but are preferred.

Cafe Staff 20th Avenue

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Opening and closing the cafe, daily cleaning procedures, customer service including using a cash register, food handling and preparation.

Requirements: Must be 16 years or older. Previous food service experience preferred but not required. Most hours are afternoon, evening and weekends (occasional day shifts).


 




Pro Shop/Zamboni Driver 20th Avenue

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Opening and closing the pro shop, customer service during open skate programs including using a cash register and handing out skate, skate sharpening, and operating the Zamboni. 

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Experience is not necessary as all training will be provide. Must be able to work evening and weekend hours.

 




Childcare Teachers - 20th Avenue & Downtown  

 

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time & Full-Time

Work Days: Varies between 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday

Qualifications/Experience:  Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Must meet minimum State Licensing Requirements for Assistant Teachers. (Early Childhood 1) Lead Teachers must also have Early Childhood 2. Experience working with children is preferred.

Drop-In Childcare - 20th Avenue & Downtown 

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Responsible for the safety and well-being of children 6 weeks to 6 years of age during the time parents are in the facility. Must supervise and participate in play and activities with the children, maintain discipline and order, and maintain open communitication with parents. 

Requirements: At least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.

 



Fitness Equipment Maintenance Technician/ Wellness Coach
 

Hours per Week:  Part-Time 

Summary: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are currently looking for a part-time motivated and goal oriented individual. We encourage all mechanically inclined individuals with experiences in the service and repair industry to apply. This position will be responsible for promptly and safely maintaining all fitness equipment with a large emphasis on the repair and preventative maintenance of fitness equipment. Additional duties may include maintenance of electrical components, audio/video systems, monitoring, and working the Health and Wellness Center.

Group Exercise Instructors: Group Cycling/Zumba/Hip Hop/Cize/Corporate Wellness


Hours per Week: Part-Time

 

1. Group Cycling Instructor - Downtown & 20th Avenue
 

Work Days: Noon hour weekdays DTC &/or Mornings at 20th Ave.
 
Requirements: Possession of a Group Cycling certification is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required. Instruct a fun and energetic indoor group cycling class.

Responsibilities: Instruct group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels. Effectively builds community within the class. Modifies class as needed to meet varied health, ability, and cultural needs.


 

2. Zumba/Hip Hop/Cize Live Instructors Downtown & 20th Avenue
 

Work Days: Varies based on instructor and room availability.
 
Requirements: Possession of Zumba or Cize Live certification is required. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred, but not required. Instruct fun and energizing classes. Be willing to sub for other instructors when needed.


3. Corporate Wellness Instructors


Hours per Week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Part-Time Corporate Wellness Instructors are needed!  If you have an interest in leading any of the following class formats, the Oshkosh Community YMCA wants to hear from you.

Massage Therapist -  20th Avenue

Active Aging Instructors


Hours per Week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Part-Time Active Aging Instructors are needed!  If you have an interest in leading any of the following class formats, the Oshkosh Community YMCA wants to hear from you.

-Onsite and Offsite class options available

Adult Sports Officials (Football and Soccer) - 20th Avenue

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Work Days: Leagues take place on week nights and weekends.

Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for the officiating of adult leauges. They will officiate games, monitor play, enforce rules, and create a positive environment for our teams.

Requirements: Previous soccer and/or football experience is importment. 


 


 

Sports Coordinator 

 

Hours per week: Full-Time

Work Days: This position must be flexible and be able to work M-F with some evening and weekend hours. Leagues take place on week nights and weekends.

Description: The Oshkosh Community YMCA is looking for a dynamic Sports Coordinator to assist the Sports Director with our youth and adult sports programs. The Sports Coordinator is an entry level position that drives participation and retention by leading in the planning and execution of all youth sports, sports camps, and adult sports programs to achieve strategic goals and provide outstanding customer service to all participants, coaches, and parents. 

Responsibilities: The Sports Coordinator engages staff, volunteers, and the adults and youth served to develop, maintain, and grow a variety of mission-based sports programs that are diverse in terms of ages (pre-school to adult) and level of competition (developmental to competitive). The ideal candidate is flexible, hardworking, innovative, organized, and personable, adept at both administration and programming. Candidate must be able to work effectively on own during evening and weekend programs.

Requirements: 

BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required; education, sports and rec or related field of study preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Excels at building relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
• Prior experience coaching, officiating, playing and/or leading organized sports strongly preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Current CPR/ AED and First Aid certifications preferred.

Work Days: Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities: Officiate youth programs such as basketball, soccer and football.

Requirements: Applicant must be educated in sports officiating, have an outgoing and patient personality, and have a passion for working with children. It is important that applicants are devoted, enthusiastic, and committed to instilling the four core values of the Y (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility) into the players and coaches they come in contact with.
