Membership Specialists and Welcome Center Professionals:

Hours per Week: Part-Time at both Y locations

Availability: Weekdays after 3pm, weekends between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Membership Coordinator: 

Membership Specialist: Staff members are responsible for membership sales, program registration and providing services to members and guests. Building lasting relationships with our members is essential to the growth and longevity of the Y and our mission. The Oshkosh Community YMCA strives to extend the very best in customer care to all who come through the doors!

 Staff are responsible for the operation of the Welcome Center. Team members have the unique opportunity to interact with all our members as they arrive & depart our facility. Building lasting relationships with our members is essential to the growth and longevity of the YMCA and our mission. The Oshkosh Community YMCA strives to office the very best in customer care to all who come through our doors!

Requirements: Applicants must be able to move freely throughout the building and be available approximately 15 hours per week. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1-year customer service experience, excellent communication skills & computer skills, be energetic, positive and motivated.

School Age Department Staff
 

The Oshkosh YMCA School Age Department is seeking outgoing, responsible, caring, and dedicated staff to work in our Before and After School Programs for the 2020-2021 school year. We are currently hiring Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders.

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Work Days: 6-8 a.m. and/or 2:30-6 p.m. Monday-Friday
 
Responsibilities: Supervise and engage with children before and after school while implementing enriching and educational activities in a fun and safe environment. Our programs provide snack, homework help, outside play time, and planned activities. This role is responsible for implementing quality programming within state licensing requirements while helping to maintain proper staff to child ratios at an assigned location.
 
Requirements: Must be 18 years or older and have high school diploma or GED.

4K Teacher Assistant - 20th Avenue 

 

Hours per Week: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 7:30AM-3:30PM (hours could vary week to week)

Work Days: Varies between 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday

Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. 
  • Must meet minimum State Licensing Requirements for Assistant Teachers.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Possess an understanding of children’s growth and development and have the ability to work with pre-school age children.
  • Have the ability to meet the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive developmental needs of the children.
  • Possess the ability to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Meets state licensing standards.
  • Human relations skills.
  • General knowledge of nutrition, health, and first aid.
  • Possess working knowledge of child abuse and neglect laws and proper reporting procedures.
  • Possess working knowledge of the YMCA mission, philosophy, and goals.
  • Conduct self in a professional and responsible manner.

20th Avenue Building Supervisor 

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Building Supervisor staff serve members and guests of the Y by providing quality supervision to youth, and provide a safe and friendly atmosphere for our members and guests.

Lifeguards & Swim Lesson Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7 pm Saturday and Sunday (The summer hours change to Saturday: 8am-5pm and Sunday: 9am-12pm).

Responsibilities: Keep our pools safe and fun, and provide an enjoyable experience to our members. 

Requirements: Must be at least 15 years old. Lifeguards must be current in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Swim Instructors must have experience in swim instruction.

 




Water Fitness Instructors 20th Avenue and Downtown

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time (Weekend and evening hours preferred)

Work Days: Must be able to work between 5am-9pm Monday-Friday, 6am-7 pm Saturday and Sunday (The summer hours change to Saturday: 8am-5pm and Sunday: 9am-12pm).

Responsibilities: Instruct various water Fitness Classes while keeping a positive and upbeat attitude. Will train the right person. Water certifications not required, but are preferred.

Pro Shop/Zamboni Driver 20th Avenue

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Opening and closing the pro shop, customer service during open skate programs including using a cash register and handing out skate, skate sharpening, and operating the Zamboni. 

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Experience is not necessary as all training will be provide. Must be able to work evening and weekend hours.

 




Childcare Teachers - 20th Avenue & Downtown  

 

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time & Full-Time

Work Days: Varies between 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday

Qualifications/Experience:  Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Must meet minimum State Licensing Requirements for Assistant Teachers. (Early Childhood 1) Lead Teachers must also have Early Childhood 2. Experience working with children is preferred.

Drop-In Childcare - 20th Avenue & Downtown 

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Responsible for the safety and well-being of children 6 weeks to 6 years of age during the time parents are in the facility. Must supervise and participate in play and activities with the children, maintain discipline and order, and maintain open communication with parents. 

Requirements: At least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.

 


 


Group Exercise Instructors

 

Hour per Week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: We are looking for instructors to teach a variety of formats including, but not limited to:

  • Zumba
  • Youth Fitness Classes
  • TRX
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Les Mills BodyPump
  • MOSSA programs including Active Together, Core Focus Together, and Defend Together
  • Essentrics

Requirements: Most of the formats listed above require special certifications and are required to be able to teach. Previous Group Exercise Instructor experience is preferred, but not required.

Active Aging Instructors


Hours per Week: Part-Time

Responsibilities: Part-Time Active Aging Instructors are needed!  If you have an interest in leading any of the following class formats, the Oshkosh Community YMCA wants to hear from you.

-Muscle Conditioning,
-Low Impact Aerobics
-Onsite and Offsite class options available

Requirements: Prior group exercise instructor experience (and certifications) are desirable but not required. Successful candidates for these positions will be responsible for helping to provide quality fitness programming for corporate wellness clients. They will be outgoing, friendly and have a genuine desire to help others. They must have their own transportation, be reliable, have excellent written and oral communication, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally, bend, stoop and twist, and see and hear clearly.

 



Adult Sports Officials (Football and Soccer) - 20th Avenue

 

Hours per week: Part-Time

Work Days: Leagues take place on week nights and weekends.

Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for the officiating of adult leagues. They will officiate games, monitor play, enforce rules, and create a positive environment for our teams.

Requirements: Previous soccer and/or football experience is important.  


 




Youth Sports Officials - 20th Avenue 

 

Hours per Week: Part-Time

Work Days: Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities: Officiate youth programs such as basketball, soccer and football.

Requirements: Applicant must be educated in sports officiating, have an outgoing and patient personality, and have a passion for working with children. It is important that applicants are devoted, enthusiastic, and committed to instilling the four core values of the Y (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility) into the players and coaches they come in contact with.
