The Oshkosh YMCA strives to offer programs that meet the needs of the community. Special session activities embody special events, fundraisers, certification opportunities and more.
Special Session NewsYouth Lock-In: February 4, 2012 from 8pm-8am at the 20th Ave YMCA! Spend the night at the YMCA! Activities include ice skating, swimming, soccer, movies, games and much more! A late night snack is provided. Please bring a swim suit, towel, warm clothing (for skating), sleeping bag, pillow and pajamas. Preregistration is required. See front desk for registration form and permission slip. Age 7-12.
$21/members or $31.50/non-members.

Adult Coed Basketball League
A seven week league consisting of one game per week. Teams must have a minimum of two females on the court at all times. Team registration only. 6-10pm Wednesdays. February 22-April 4, 2012. Registration deadline: February 11, 2012. $275/team.
Adult Coed Volleyball League
A sixes coed league for men and women to have fun and stay in shape. Teams will play one-hour long games per week and participate in an end of session tournament. Team roster forms are available at the frong desk (roster size is 8-12 players). 6-10pm Mondays from February 20-April 2, 2012. Registration deadline is February 11, 2012. $157.50/team.
Adult Golf LessonsLearn the fundamentals of golf through group lessons. Offered in Spring. Space is limited to 8 golfers per session.
Birthday Party PackagesThe YMCA is a great spot to hold your next Birthday Party! All YMCA locations are available for rental. Special rates are available for non-profit groups and organizations. For more information on renting YMCA facilities, including the indoor rock climbing wall and ice arena, please contact the Special Events Coordinator at 230-8439 ext. 123. All birthday parties must be booked seven days in advance.
Family Night
Join us for Family Night, including: swimming, soccer, ice skating, basketball and Family Prime Time. An adult family member must accompany children. Family Nights presented by Mercy Medical Center. Cost is $5.25 per family for non-members and AWAY members, and Free for OSHKOSH YMCA Members. Family Nights run from 6-8pm Dec. 10, Dec. 31, Jan. 14, Feb. 18, March 24, and April 21.
G•E•T U•P!
This is an awesome program for girls in
grades 3-5. Through exercise, social activities,
education and more, girls will work on improving their self-image, self-esteem and their leadership skills. The program will be coached by compassionate women from the YMCA and the community. Girls will develop self-awareness and positive body image as we progress through the session. each session will include principles of wellness and exercises in various topics including: leadership, health & wellness, peer pressure, body image and more. LEGO LEAGUE (ages 9-14)FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) is an exciting and fun global robotics program that ignites an
enthusiasm for discovery, science, & technology in kids ages 9-14. FLL teams embark on
adventurous challenges based on current, real-world issues. Guided by a team coach and
assisted by mentors, the kids: engage in playful and meaningful learning; experience fun,
creative, hands-on learning; think like scientists and engineers; connect to their community;
experiment and overcome obstacles; build self-esteem and confidence.
FLL will meet starting in September and continue through December depending on the FLL
competition Schedule. Teams will meet between 2-4 hours per week, however, additional time
may be required depending on the teams progress. For more information, see www.usfirst.org.
To participate: Kids must submit a 500-word essay expressing their interested in FLL,
how their skills and abilities can contribute to the team and how FLL can help them in the
future.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the program. If you have knowledge in the areas of
engineering, Graphic Design, Science, Programming or marketing, please call 230-8439 for more information. Fee $50 member • $75 Activity member.
Men's Indoor Flag Football
Compete in an arena football league held in the soccer arena. Six-week league with one game per week. During the 7th week there will be a tournament. All teams will receive game shirts with the sponsor’s name on them. Maximum number of shirts per team is ten. Fridays 5-10pm. March 2-April 20, 2012. Reigstration deadline: February 18, 2012. $367.50/team.
Men's Sunday Night Slam Basketball League
A league designed for staying in shape and having fun with the guys. Two officials will be provided for each court. Games will consist of two 20-minute halves for league games. Teams must provide their own jerseys/shirts with numbers. Sundays 5-10pm (game dependent on number of teams). March 11-May 6, 2012. Registration deadline: February 18, 2012. $275/team.
NEW! T-ball and Coach Pitch Baseball
An indoor baseball experience. One week of practice will be followed by six games. October 27-December 15. T-ball (4K & Kindergarten): Thursdays 5:15-6:16pm. Coach Pitch (1st Grade): Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm. $33/member or $48/non-member.
NFL Flag Football League
A seven-week season of indoor flag football. Games will take place on Saturday mornings. Practices are held 30 minutes prior to the game. All players must wear a mouth guard to participate. For children in grades K-8. Season runs April 28-June 9, 2012. Registration deadline is March 17, 2012.
SportsZone
FREE to any Youth Member. Each week we will offer a different sport. Sports will include basketball, flag football, dodgeball, or floor hockey-under the guidance of a YMCA staff member. 3:30-5pm Tuesdays at the 20th Ave YMCA. No SportsZone on no-school days.
Wiggles and Giggles
FUN for parents and their preschoolers in a supervised play space. Space is complete with gym equipment, balls and more. Held Mondays & Thursday 9:30-11am and Tuesdays from 4:45-5:45pm. Free for members; $4 for activity members.
Youth Golf LessonsThis session is for beginners interested in learning the basics of golf. The youngsters will be learning beginning golf skills, rules and etiquette and fundamentals of the swing. Our goal is to have the youth golfers gain lifetime interest in the game. Offered in Spring.
Youth Tennis (ages 5-10)
This program is designed for boys and girls that want to have fun playing tennis. Even if your child has never played before, there is a spot for them in this program. Players must provide their own racquet. February 21-April 3, 2012 (Registration deadline: February 17, 2012).
Youth Volleyball League
An instructional league that offers practice and play on the same day. 20-minute practice followed by games for the remainder of the session. Participants will work with YMCA Staff and Volunteers to develop volleyball skils and participate in game play. Space is limited to the first 50 participants in each age group. Knee pads required. For children in grades 1-8. February 23-April 5, 2012. Registration Deadline: February 11, 2012.
